The Z Strategy: Get Clients Like How Gandhi Grew India

Years ago, the British were occupying India, and there was a lot of conflict. The predominant question from the people of India was, how do we coexist with the British or how do we better get along with the British? Gandhi looked at it from a different perspective. He looked at it from a clean slate. He said, "If we could create India any way we wanted to create it, how would we create it?" The answer he got was, a British-less India. Your brain is designed to answer virtually any question you ask yourself. Gandhi asked a different question and he got a different answer.

Gandhi’s Vision

This became Gandhi’s vision, to have a British-less India. Once Gandhi declared that vision, it now became a possibility to happen. Gandhi then went to the British leaders and essentially said this: "I've been thinking, we're not really getting along, and it's time for you guys to leave." They laughed at him. "Gandhi, why would we leave? We're taxing you guys. We have all the prime real estate." Gandhi continued to share his vision with the people of India. Gandhi enrolled 200,000,000 people in his vision. This is before social media and Twitter and cellphones. He was able to get 200,000,000 people unified in this vision of a British-less India. He then went back to the British leaders and said, "We've decided you're leaving," and they left. If Gandhi could free India with this strategy, do you believe you could use this strategy to get a few more clients? This concept can be applied to your business.

Z Strategy

Here is the formula. It is called the Z Strategy. This formula is pure gold!

  • Step 1 – Come from a position of a clean slate (blank canvas)
  • Step 2 – Create a vision
  • Step 3 – A space gets created
  • Step 4 – Enrol others into the space

Years ago, I decided to create a virtual sales training program that I called the Protégé program. From a clean slate, I created a vision to train one thousand students in my sales system. Once I created that vision, the space now existed, and I began to enrol others into the space. As of this recording, I have over 7,500 students in that program, more than seven times the original vision.

My new vision is to train and certify a million people in my sales system. From a clean slate, I created a vision to train and certified a million people in my sales methodology, which creates a space for those million people, and every day I go out and I enrol more people into my program.

Ray Kroc Used the Strategy

Ray Kroc is the person who took McDonald’s to a global company from the idea, from the McDonald brothers. Kroc had a vision to have 1000 McDonald’s franchises. Now, they have, I think it's up to about 35,000. When he came out with the original vision of a thousand, people told him he was crazy to think like that.
