Are you ready to show yourself some love? Self-care isn’t just a buzzword — it’s all about putting yourself first and prioritizing your well-being, nourishing your body, soul and mind. In a crazy world that glorifies productivity and hustle, it’s easy to forget that we are flesh and blood and we have needs, we are simply humans with physical, emotional, and mental needs. The real meaning of self-care is taking the time to tune in to those needs and to make your well-being a priority.
You probably see every day those fancy Instagram posts with bubble baths, face masks, tall crystal glasses of champagne or wine, colorful nourishing breakfasts floating in a pool in Bali and all sorts of beauty routines – and, although all these things can be part of self-care, this is not the real meaning of it.
I believe this is one of the most essential actions that you need to take in order to protect your time and energy. Learn to say ‘no’! You don’t need to commit when your instincts tell you otherwise. Learn how to listen to your body and mind and how to respond with kindness and empathy in consequence.
Taking care of yourself is not selfish — in fact, it’s the opposite. You preserve your energy and you will become a better actor on this stage called life. You will have more resources in you and you will show up better equipped, glowing with energy and have more patience in helping others. You will react better and will face all your challenges with dignity and grace.

The ‘Impostor Syndrome’ is something very common in our days. We are taught to believe that we are not really worth it, that we are not good enough, not talented enough… not enough. The media and ads in general contribute to our insecurities that seem to grow as we age. But let me tell you something: You are TOTALLY worth it! It is only in your power to prove this to yourself only. To know this and to nourish your mind and soul with this thought. Loving yourself doesn’t mean that you are selfish or you don’t have any love left for others. Loving yourself is a necessity. You deserve to be happy and feel all the amazing emotions that life brings you. You deserve to spend time with yourself, to constantly grow and choose the things that you love.
We are so caught up in routines that very often we stop listening to ourselves, to our body, to our needs and desires, even those small guilty pleasures. Don’t avoid your feelings. You may be down one day and that’s okay. It’s perfectly fine to stop, take a deep breath and rethink the path taken. It’s okay to quit if that road is not the one for you. Listen to your guts. Listen to your instincts. We live in a world where we are taught to often shut down our inner compass. To listen to others, specialists, mentors, gurus, whatever… But no one knows better than you what you truly need and want. You know best! Have faith in what your inner child tells you.
Improve the relationships with yourself. This is probably both the final and first step on the way to reconnecting with your true self. It’s the precise pure moment when you know that from now on you will start making the right decisions. It’s also the beginning of a new time in your life, a time of truth and sincerity, of peace and serenity. The moment when you become your best friend and the moment when you will have complete faith in your actions. A time of growth begins.
So, let’s redefine self-care as something that’s necessary and powerful. It’s not just a luxury for those with extra time and money — it’s something that everyone deserves. As you learn to take care of yourself, you’ll find that you become more resilient, confident, and able to take on whatever life throws your way. So go ahead, make self-care a priority — you deserve it!
